4 slices crispy bacon

2 large eggs

2 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole grain) or 1 sandwich roll

1 tbsp butter (for toasting bread)

1 slice cheddar cheese (optional, but highly recommended)

1–2 lettuce leaves (optional, for crunch)

2 slices tomato (optional, for freshness)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 — Cook the bacon

Place bacon slices in a cold skillet, turn heat to medium.

Let the fat render slowly; flip occasionally until bacon is crispy (about 6–8 minutes).

Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Tip: For extra-crispy bacon, try baking it at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes on a wire rack over a baking sheet.


Step 2 — Toast the bread

In the same skillet, pour off most of the bacon grease (leave about 1 tsp for flavor).

Add butter and let it melt.

Toast both sides of your bread slices until golden brown.

Step 3 — Cook the eggs
